I did not understand the concept of “ego” for a long time. But I realize it is just another word for false self. and it is a beast. but beasts can be tamed. and they are to be mastered and controlled by the True Self, the One, the All, the NO-thing, the Living Consciousness, God (which I myself do not use too often because of its limited constructs within my mind, which at this point needs a new paradigm), whatever names we or you or I try to give our True Selves in what we call Speech. I hear so many people talk about Spiritual Awakening and awareness as if you suddenly become this being that is. but is not.. that I don’t feel is completely correct. The point of “death” (spiritual because physical death has no true transformative power) is to be able to LIVE, as Life Itself, while being able to retain who you decided to experience in this lifetime. You may decide, as an Ultimate being to not have another, so why would you suddenly stop being this being.. that you decided to be? It is Mastery at its finest. No longer IDENTIFYING your real self as the ego, but being able to play the part to its highest potential. The ego is to be overcome. And no longer be ruled by it. THAT cannot be done without full recognition of the Spirit that is You. and I. The Spirit that I AM.
